Currently, I spend my days working as a Digital Designer for MTV.com. My nights are often left to freelancing for clients, or slaving over the design of a new typeface. Weekends—surfing and bodyboarding.
After Graduating from the College of Saint Rose with my BFA in Graphic Design amidst a declining economy in 2008, I was forced to transform negative energies into positive. That summer was spent following web forums, blogs, and conquering tutorials—learning how to speak the web-developers language. Fortunately, good friends with experience in the field were never more than a phone call away. August rolled in and an opportunity for a post-graduate internship with Walter Bernard Design (formerly, WBMG: Walter Bernard & Milton Glaser) presented itself. What started as an internship eventually turned into a freelance position. During my time with Walter (13 months) I worked to design and help manage all ESPN jobs (working primarily on the most recent 30 for 30 initiative). I was fortunate to have worked under both Walter and Milton's art direction for the design and launch of the magazine, Forbes India.
Working under these pioneers only motivated me to pursue more. Realizing I had developed a passion for web design and animation, I left Walter Bernard to pursue a career as a Digital Designer for MTV.com. This is my second time in the Viacom building—my first being in the summer of 2007 for an internship with MTV Networks, Nickelodeon.
The quote above speaks to the very nature of what I enjoy most about being a Graphic Artist, Digital Designer, Artist, Web Designer, Web Developer. . . the process.
